On Wednesday April 4th, the students at Black Rock were treated to an anti-bullying program. The presenter, Dr. Jay Banks, has been making his mark in the hearts and minds of individuals for over 30 years and across 44 states, performing thousands of programs. Dr. Banks's research-based presentation taught the children how to not become a victim of bullying. His program, I AM UNAFRAID, was informative and entertaining. Former Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell came to Black Rock on Thursday, May 3rd as a guest reader. Mrs. Rell was invited to read to Mrs. Gritt's third grade class and Mrs.Blethen's first grade class. Mrs. Rell was a regular guest reader for Mrs. Gritt's second grade Guest Reader Program for many years. It was exciting to have her back here at our school.
